RALPH W. MOSS, PHD
COMPANY: THE MOSS REPORTS
TOPIC: FROM THE QUACK LIST TO THE NOBEL PRIZE
DESCRIPTION:
The enhancement of the immune system through the use of “immune checkpoint inhibitors” was acknowledged in December 2018 with the Nobel Prize to Dr. James P. Allison of Houston and Dr. Tasuku Honjo of Tokyo. But immune therapy has a long history within complementary and alternative medicine. This started with a recognition that the body sometimes heals itself of cancer and that a course of fever treatments (Coley’s toxins) could sometimes drive a cancer into remission. Dr. Moss will trace the century-long journey of this field from the supposed quackery to the Nobel Prize podium in Stockholm, Sweden.
